Diana Martinez is a freelance culture writer and doctoral candidate at the University of Oregon. She is currently working on a dissertation titled, “Funny Business: Women Comedians and the Political Economy of Hollywood Sexism.” At UO, she also teaches film and media courses, and is constantly looking for more ways to introduce very important discussions about the Kardashians into her lesson plans. Her work has appeared in The Atlantic and Slate.
